Torry's take: Packing my bags for Hawaii By Torry Holt Special to MondayNightFootball.com
I found out Saturday morning that I am going to the Pro Bowl. I was checking my messages and Duane Lewis from the Rams had called and said they wanted me to go down there because Isaac Bruce, who has injured ribs, decided not to play. I want to thank him for giving me an opportunity to go to Hawaii and play in my first Pro Bowl.

This is a big deal for me. I went down to Hawaii after my rookie year last season and checked the game out as a spectator. I didn't make it as a starter for the NFC this season, and I said, "I'm not going back there until I'm named to the team." I wouldn't have gone even if I was named to the Pro Bowl as an alternate. It was a pride thing. Finally, I put that aside, and said, "If someone doesn't want to go, I might as well go and take advantage of the situation." It's a great experience, and I just want to make the most of it.
I am like a little kid in a candy store right now. There is a lot going on down in Hawaii before the Pro Bowl game. They have water and beach events for the players to compete against each other. They have an afternoon where you can meet all the Pro Bowlers. They have parties at night. I had fun last year as a spectator, and now I look forward to experiencing it on the other side, from a player's perspective.
This game will be competitive, and I'm going down there to work. If I get in the game, I'm going to try to score as soon as possible. I will try to catch the ball and do some things in front of the league's best players. It's fun, yeah, but it's also a challenge to go up against the AFC's best corners all afternoon.
The Pro Bowl is a great reward, and trust me, it motivates guys to want to go back every year. You go through all the hard work starting with training camp, the regular season and then the playoffs, and if you're good enough, the NFL thanks you by sending you to Hawaii for an entire week to kick back with your family and peers. It's a dream come true to be recognized as one of the best players at your position in the NFL. The best part is being with your family through all of it.
Since I've last written to you after our playoff loss to the Saints on Dec. 30, I've been chilling with my family and letting my body heal. Sometimes I go to the Rams office and hit the treadmill for about an hour, and do some push-ups and sit-ups. Then I go home and relax. I've been hanging out with Dexter McCleon and Dre' Bly here and there. I have also been talking with Az-Zahir Hakim on the phone. I've been trying to keep in touch with some of the guys to catch up.
I saw Isaac and Marshall Faulk at the Super Bowl, as I went down to Tampa last week for the big game festivities. I went to MTV's Rock and Jock, and had an opportunity to say what's up to Shaggy. Nelly was there, Mystikal too. It was a fun time. But the thing about it was I'd rather be playing in the Super Bowl than just laying back and enjoying the festivities.
As far as the game was concerned, I was mad at the Giants, they just rolled over and let the Ravens run through them. A lot of people are saying that the Ravens defense is one of the league's all-time bests, and I agree. That group plays hard for four straight quarters every game. They deserved to win the biggest game of the season.
