RECAP | BOX SCORE | GAME FLOW

WASHINGTON (AP) _ Reserve Aaron Williams scored a season-high 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Washington Wizards snapped a three-game losing streak with a 117-89 victory over the Toronto Raptors.

Rod Strickland scored 15 points and Jahidi White added 13 as Washington posted its most lopsided triumph this season, eclipsing a 14-point victory over New Jersey on Dec. 16.

Seven Wizards reached double figures as Washington improved to 4-8 against Central Division opponents. Half of those victories have come against Toronto, which missed a chance to take over third place in the Central.

Vince Carter scored 19 points and Antonio Davis had 14 points and 15 rebounds for the Raptors, who have dropped three straight. Tracy McGrady added 16 points.

Toronto, which had been the only Central Division team with a winning road record, fell to 8-8 away from home.

The Wizards averted their first four-game skid of the season thanks to Toronto's abysmal first-period shooting. The Raptors started out 5-for-23 from the field and scored only 10 points in the period.

While Toronto struggled, the Wizards went on a 12-2 run midway through the period, taking a 16-6 lead on Williams' bank shot with 3:03 left.

Juwan Howard scored the first four points of a 10-2 burst to open the second quarter and Toronto made only one field goal over the period's first 6:26. Washington led by as many as 25 on White's layin with 23.9 seconds remaining in the half.

Notes: Carter left the game briefly in the second quarter after being accidentally elbowed in the mouth by Washington's Tracy Murray near midcourt. ... The 10 points the Raptors scored in the first quarter was only one more than the franchise low of nine in an opening period at Chicago on Dec. 13, 1997. ...Washington improved to 4-6 when scoring 100 or more points. ... Before Tuesday, the Wizards' largest lead this season had been 19 points.
