RECAP | BOX SCORE | GAME FLOW

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) _ Derrick Coleman scored 26 points and Eddie Jones added 23 as the Charlotte Hornets rallied for a 100-94 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Sunday night.

Elton Brand had 24 points, Fred Hoiberg a season-high 20 and Chris Carr 17 for Chicago, which has lost eight straight.

The Hornets rallied for their second victory in six games after Coleman was ejected for two technical fouls with 6:48 left. He was replaced by Elden Campbell, who was benched until that point for missing Saturday's practice.

The Bulls took a 94-90 lead with 3:59 left on a 3-pointer by Hoiberg, but Chicago was scoreless the rest of the way.

Eddie Robinson made a 15-foot jumper at 3:01 and David Wesley gave the Hornets their first lead of the fourth quarter with a 3-pointer with 1:36 left.

Two free throws by Wesley, followed by a jumper by Anthony Mason, made it 99-94, and Jones added a free throw for the final margin.

Although Coleman had 18 first-half points, Charlotte's lead was 50-49 at halftime. Coleman scored seven straight points, including five free throws, as the Hornets took a 47-40 lead with 3:03 left in the second quarter.

Brand made two baskets and a 3-pointer from Hoiberg keyed a 9-3 run for the Bulls to close the second quarter.

The Bulls fell behind 61-56 in the third before rallying for a 74-73 lead entering the final quarter. Reserve center Will Perdue scored six of Chicago's final 13 points in the period.

Notes: With 4:39 left in the first period, Hornets forward Dale Ellis hit a three-pointer from the right wing to become the 35th player in NBA history to reach 19,000 career points. A 16-year veteran, Ellis is seventh in scoring among active players. ... The Bulls failed to make a free throw in the first half. Perdue missed Chicago's only two attempts. ... Charlotte fan John Weber won $10,000 for sinking a 3-pointer between the third and fourth quarters. Weber shot under-handed from the top of the key.
