AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) _ Helen Darling scored 15 of her game-high 17 points in the second half Monday night, lifting the Cleveland Rockers to a 76-65 win over the Detroit Shock.

Detroit (12-15) remained a half-game ahead of idle Washington for fourth place in the Eastern Conference in the chase for playoff position.

The Rockers (15-12), who trailed 35-28 at halftime, took their first lead of the game, 51-48, on a three-point play by Mery Andrade with 7:47 remaining.

The Rockers, who outscored the Shock 34-17 in the final 12 minutes of the game, led by 14 points with 41 seconds to go. Detroit narrowed the gap with three 3-point baskets in the final 35 seconds.

Detroit, which lost to the Rockers 80-60 in Cleveland on July 28, scored the first six points of the game and never trailed in the first half.

The Shock's biggest lead was 27-14 after a pair of free throws by Barbara Farris with 7:27 remaining in the first half.

Wendy Palmer led Detroit with 16 points and Elena Tornikidou added 14 points and seven rebounds. Andrade finished with 15 points for Cleveland, and Merlakia Jones added 13.
